YouDo - Terms of use and disclaimer
Version 2026-10-29. YouDo ("we", "us"). Contact: admin@youdo.uk
1. Free beta software, provided "as is"
YouDo is free beta software. It is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied - including that it is fit for a particular purpose or that it will work without errors or interruptions.
2. Keep your own backups
YouDo edits, renames, moves and syncs the files in the folders you open with it. Beta software can have bugs, and a bug could damage or lose files. Keep your own independent backups of anything that matters to you - for example a copy on another drive that YouDo does not open.
3. YouDo Sync
YouDo Sync is an alpha service. It is end-to-end encrypted: your notes are locked on your device before they are sent, and we cannot read them.
- It is free during the beta. We plan to make it a paid feature in the future, and we will tell you before we charge for anything.
- During the beta it may be interrupted, changed or ended.
- It copies changes to every linked device - mistakes included. A note deleted or overwritten on one device is deleted or overwritten on the others too.
- A synced vault you delete from the server is kept for 30 days, so it can be restored, and is then erased.
- We may delete data stored on the sync server - for example to fix a problem, when the service changes or ends, after a long time without use, or if these terms are broken. Where we can, we will tell you in the app first.
- Deleting data on the sync server does not touch the files on your devices: your notes stay where they are, and you can sync them again later. The server only holds an encrypted copy for syncing, not your backup.
- Nobody - including us - can recover your notes if you lose both your passphrase and your recovery code.
4. Online features
Some features use third-party services (for example maps, weather, place search, routing and the AI helper). Their own terms apply when you use them.
AI answers, routes, weather forecasts and reminders can be wrong, late or missing. Do not rely on them for anything critical, such as your safety, your health, travel or legal deadlines.
5. Our liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss of data, loss of profits, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of YouDo or YouDo Sync.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law. Your statutory rights are not affected.
Nothing in these terms takes away your right, where the law gives you one, to have a service provided with reasonable care and skill - for example under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 once you pay for a service from us.
6. Changes
We may update these terms. When we do, YouDo shows them to you again before you carry on.
